Microsoft launching low cost Surface tablets to compete against the $498 iPad?
Microsoft is reportedly gunning for the entry-level tablet segment with a new range of low cost Surface tablets after Apple gained market success with its entry level 9.7-inch iPad.
Sources told Bloomberg that Microsoft is planning to launch the low cost Surface tablets in the second half of the year. They are said to have 10-inch displays, rounded edges and USB-C connectivity. They are also 20% lighter and the battery life is likely to be four hours shorter than the current Surface devices.
